Mary Read CPC, QPA, CPFA is National Director of Qualified Plan Marketing at Alliance Benefit Group-Pentegra. A leading authority in qualified retirement plans with 30 years experience, Mary has an extensive background in consulting and plan design.
With a focus on the advantages qualified retirement plans can provide for closely held businesses, Mary spent much of the last 30 years helping more than 10,000 individual business owners adopt efficient and effective plans. She worked directly with business owners in her pension consultant role at an actuarial consulting firm and as a financial professional. In an executive capacity, she educated and supported financial advisors writing qualified plans at National Life Insurance Company and MONY Life Insurance Company.
Mary is a frequent speaker on qualified plans and contributor to industry publications. Among her credits, she has been published in National Underwriter and the Pension Newsletter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals, has taught pension classes across the country for major financial institutions and been a featured speaker at national meetings for the Society of Financial Service Professionals, AALU, LIMRA and MDRT. She is the current National Chair for the Qualified Section of the Society of Financial Service Professionals.
Mary holds the Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) and Qualified Plan Administrator (QPA) designations from the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries. She also holds paralegal certification from Upsala College and a BA in Literature from Ramapo College of New Jersey.
